It should not be surprising that there are no professional sports teams based out of Ogunquit, Maine. The town, which does not have a population over two thousand people, would be hard pressed to fill any stadium. If it is sports you are looking for, you will probably have to bring your own sporting equipment. Beach volleyball, beach football, beach baseball, beach Frisbee, beach paddleball…all of these are viable options. Yankees playing the Red Sox? For that, you’ll have to drive a few hours south to Boston.

For those who take their jogging seriously, Ogunquit is a runners paradise. The Wells Nature Preserve has seven miles of trails, and all the roads around town have beautiful scenery and are only lightly traveled. If swimming is your thing, you’ll have to be brave: the ocean water is cold nearly year round. Still, a few bold souls do manage to splash around a bit during the summer months. And don't forget minor-league baseball. Portland has a team, and if you have to fly in and out of the Portland, ME airport, you might as well see if you can catch a game.
